The mission of DeKalb CUSD 428 is to prepare students to reach their full potential as lifelong learners.
Our vision is to guide DeKalb CUSD 428 to be a cohesive and efficient organization fueled by a deep commitment to responsibly serve our community and a passion towards giving the best learning and growing environment that we can provide to our students and families.
Board Accountability: Be effective and efficient stewards of the community’s trust and district resources and accountable to fellow board members as well as the public.
Finance and Budget: Prioritize district resources to meet the educational needs of the students of District 428 within a balanced budget.
Instructional Quality: Provide every student with a well-rounded and relevant educational experience that equips them with the skills and knowledge needed for life and career.
Communication: Develop and implement effective communication among administration, staff, and community stakeholders.
Community Relations: Recapture the community’s trust through communication and leadership in issues that affect the socioeconomic health and vitality of the district.
